Seasons is a comprehensive Behavioral Health Center offering a broad range of psychiatric and behavioral health services to communities in Northwest Iowa. We are excited for a new opportunity to become a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic! (CCBHC) This will allow us to increase access and improve the quality of behavioral health services provided, fulfilling our mission of “Guiding Individuals and Families Toward a Meaningful and Fulfilling Life”. Join our CCBHC team today, and be part of this difference! We are currently seeking a full-time Family Peer Support based out of Autumn’s Center in Spencer, IA.

 

The CCBHC Family Peer Support will:

  • Act as a mentor who can provide guidance and role modeling through insight gained from their own personal experience of caring for their child with Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED)
  • Provide clients with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully cope with the challenges associated with having a child with SED
  • Share personal experiences as appropriate to support and encourage families
  • Support the efforts of families in caring for and strengthening their children’s mental, and physical health, development and well-being of their children
  • Advocate for and with clients, assisting them in preparing for meetings and accompanying them to meetings, court hearings, school meetings, and other related activities when needed
  • Enhance the quality of life by identifying barriers and improving access to community and natural supports
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team with other mental health professionals such as therapists and care coordinators
  • Assist with the collection, maintenance, and analysis of participant data
Requirements

 

  • Must have experience as a primary caregiver for a child with emotional and behovorial health needs
  • A certification in Family Peer Support or the ability to become certified is required  
  • High school diploma or GED required  
  • Some travel is required for this psotions, so a valid driver's license is required
